WhatsApp has introduced a feature that allows users to organize and schedule events within Communities

WhatsApp has unveiled a new feature for organizing events within Communities, announced on Wednesday. This feature simplifies the process of planning gatherings and events directly within WhatsApp, whether it’s arranging a PTA meeting or a birthday celebration.

Users can create events that group members can RSVP to, allowing everyone to view who plans to attend. The event details can be accessed from the group’s information page, and attendees will receive notifications as the event date approaches.

Initially, this feature is launching for Community-linked groups and will gradually expand to all groups in the coming months.

WhatsApp is introducing a feature that allows users to reply to messages within Announcement Groups, where admins in a Community share updates with all members. Replies will be grouped together for visibility, but users won’t receive notifications for these replies. The aim is to enable admins to hear from members while maintaining organization and reducing clutter in Announcement Groups.

Communities were launched by WhatsApp in November 2022 to connect neighborhoods, school associations, hobbyists, and others by allowing admins to combine up to 50 groups. The company plans to introduce more features to Communities and groups in the coming months.
